The GB Thank You Caravan

GRAND BEND “THANK YOU” CARAVAN PLEASE JOIN US!

We are organizing a "THANK YOU" caravan for this Thursday morning April 16th. We are talking about thanking and showing support for the medical people, grocery store personnel, pharmacies, firefighters, liquor and beer stores etc.

We would like you to make a sign, display it on or in your vehicle, add balloons and ribbons if possible etc. etc. The purpose is to express our thanks to those folks who go to their jobs everyday so we can rest assured if we need medical help or groceries or whatever these folks will be there.

We have spoken with Heather Klopp the Director of Health Support Services at Grand Bend Area Community Health Centre. She has told me there are 43 personnel who work there between their Grand Bend and Hensall Sites. I had no idea there are that many employees and I am sure most of you folks did not know either. Many are working from home, providing our communities with health services, management and on-line support. Check out their new COVID-19 website https://gbachc.ca/covid-19/.

We have also spoken with Management at Sobeys. They know we will be coming. We have contacted Mike Rahn at NoFrills, Connie at PharmaSave and also notified Shoppers Drug Mart folks. We will be contacting LCBO and Beer Store personnel, as well, hoping they will all have representatives to view our parade.

We have contacted the OPP to let them know what we will be doing and asking for traffic control. They will provide that assuming they are not required elsewhere. I will be contacting the local Fire Department volunteers to see if they would like to bring up the rear of the parade.

ASSEMBLY: We will assemble on the north east side of the road on Highway 81 just beyond the entrance to the Medical Centre. Fall in behind my vehicle, a black Cadillac and behind me a white MG. Start assembling at 10.30 a.m. with plans to pass the Medical Centre for 11.00 a.m.

Once we have travelled to the Medical Centre, past Sobeys and finished our circuit we will disassemble in the LCBO parking lot.

WE HAVE A TERRIFIC COMMUNITY HERE IN THE GRAND BEND AREA. PLEASE COME OUT AND SHOW YOUR SUPPORT FOR THESE FOLKS.

THIS IS A FEEL GOOD PROJECT.

We will feel good for doing it and those folks we are supporting will feel good as well.

WE CAN DO THIS ... LET'S UNITE AND DO THIS RIGHT!
